2012.08.25 Owen - At Home With

Color: Black

Released: 2006, November 7

Label: Polyvinyl

Kudos to my girlfriend. After the discovery of our mutual admiration for American Football, she very much made me aware that I should be listening to Owen. A name I was familiar with for sure, but for some reason, never really followed up on. When you become quite fond of someone you tend to listen to them or at least take them up on a few suggestions that they offer up. And so I quickly became a fan of Mike Kinsella’s post-AF project and this is where I started, or rather a CDR-copy of this record that remained the sole CD that would be played in my car for quite some time. Aside from liking the sounds that I was hearing, it became (and currently remains) one of the records central to our relationship. I generally have something to say about the art of a record, but with this… nothing. I’m not going to force some weird analogy or anecdote. This is just one of those cases where it’s nice to have that art in 12 inch glory and enjoy the fidelity of this format.
